Datin Stephanie Teong is the Founder and Director of t-a square™ Architects, a Kuala Lumpur–based architecture and design consultancy established in 2010.
With professional experience spanning Malaysia, Singapore, and regional developments across Southeast Asia, she leads the practice with a focus on thoughtful design, technical clarity, and long-term architectural value.
Under her leadership, the firm delivers full-scope architectural services across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments both locally and internationally
Educational Background
Datin Stephanie Teong holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Melbourne, Australia. Prior to this, she was awarded an undergraduate scholarship by the university and was among the first cohort invited into its accelerated Master’s programme — a distinction recognising her academic excellence and design potential.
Her education at one of Australia’s leading architecture schools provided a strong foundation in design thinking, urban context, and architectural innovation, which continues to influence her professional approach today.
Key Project Experience
Datin Stephanie Teong worked as an Architectural Associate with Surbana International Malaysia, where she contributed to major international projects across Malaysia and Singapore. Her early experience included mixed-use developments, large-scale residential schemes, and sustainable township planning, providing valuable exposure to complex multidisciplinary developments and large urban environments.
In 2010, Datin Stephanie Teong founded t-a square™ Architects to translate her regional and international experience into a design-led architectural consultancy. Since its establishment, the firm has completed projects across a wide range of building typologies and has facilitated the successful handover of thousands of residential and commercial units.
Today, t-a square™ continues to expand its portfolio both locally and internationally, with projects including serviced apartments, hotels, office developments, residential buildings, and mixed-use complexes. The practice has also established an international presence with projects in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Datin Stephanie Teong began her professional career with Surbana Corporation Pte Ltd in Singapore, one of the region’s largest government-owned consultancies specialising in infrastructure, urban planning, and large-scale development.
